Comments: This is Ted's youngest son, and I was reaching out to his squadron. Ted just celebrated his 96th birthday last month, and one of the other pilot's son indicated that Ted is probably the last surviving pilot. At first that really hit me hard, but I was wondering if it is true. If it is then it would be fitting to do something special. I don't know the NAVY protocol when this happens. He loved flying for the NAVY and has always held memories of VA 702 / 145 close to his heart.

Comments: I am proud to be a friend of Marvin Henderson, (The XO of VA-702), all the way back to 1947 when I was a student at SWU in Georgetown, Tx.
He inspired me to become a NAVCAD in 1948. After the Korean War we became neighbors in Dallas.
There, I met many other pilot veterans of the re-called VA-702 Squadron.

Comments: Looking for any members of Reserve Squadron VA-702
that was called to active duty July, 1950. There is going to be 2 reunions, one with VA-145 in Charleston, S.C., Sept. 6, 2000. The next reunion will be with the Aircraft Carrier Boxer Veterans Association to be held in New Braunsfeld, TX in April 200l. VA-702 members had our first get-together with the Boxer Veterans Assn. this past March. We had approximately 15 shipmates at this meeting. We hope to increase that if we can just find our shipmates.
