Comments: It would be great to here from some of the fellows of my squadron VA 115 from the time frame of 1957 to 1960. I would like to know if there are any reunions to go to. I remember a gas powered rickshaw we rebuilt and put vinyl seat and canvas to over the unit w/our squadron insignia on it. Does anybody know of its whereabouts? My phone # is 509-965-9362
thanks.

Comments: I am trying to gather information about the air combat operations of USN squadrons in Korea. In case of VA-115 I am especially interested in encounters with MiG’s during the November 1950 strikes on the Yalu bridges. In addition to Air Group 11’s famous encounter with MiG’s 9 November, the VA-115 Historical Report makes mention of two further sightings or encounters the 10th and 12th. Any further info on any of these encounters, by VA-115 or any squadron in Philippine Sea/CVG-11, first hand or not, would be helpful.

Comments: I'm looking for contacts who knew or knew of my grandfather Harry H. Hayden who was stationed aboard the USS Philippine Sea with va-115 in 1950-5?. His headstone lists his rank as LTJG. He used to tell me a lot of humorous stories and I would like to know more about him as a pilot and as a young man. Please e-mail me with any info you have.
Thanks,
Josh
