It was activated in Jan 1952 for 2 years, and was stationed at Camp Polk, LA. Almost all the members of the 148th were sent as individual replacements to Korea. We are putting together a museum at HHC 1/148th INF, Ohio National Guard armory in Lima, OH. The 148th is the only remaining infantry battalion in the state. Family members recently sent me pictures of Albert's wife and Daughter, that I never knew existed..The only info I have is their names. Toyoko was the wife and daughter was Junko. From the pictures they appear to be from the middle/late 1950's but could be even a little later. The little girl is dressed in traditional oriental dress/with headpiece. The pictures were emailed to me and are of poor quality. Albert was b. 17Dec1934 Houston, Texas and d. 1998 Texas
I wish I had more to go.
I have used every free search resource available and have found nothing.

I was stationed at EJSC when Korean deal started in June, 1950. EJSC was part of JLC. (Japan Logistical Command) Students came to EJSC from Okinawa, Guam, and all the Units stationed in Japan and FEC. They came to schools such as: Automotive Maintenance, Cooks and Bakers, Electrical Lineman, Signal Corps, Motion Picture Projection, Corps of Engineers, etc. I was in charge of the Training Aids Section where indigenous draftsmen, artists, sign painters, carpenters, metalsmiths, etc. designed and produced the various training aids for these school classrooms. Soon after Korean War began, Japanese recruits replaced American students and became part of the JNPR. He is missing the tip of his pinkie finger on his right hand. He may have been a cook, or connected to the Ordnance School. At some point he may have gone to the Phillippines. His girlfriend's name was Toyoko Asato. She worked as a maid at Camp McTureous. She was pregnant when Jerry left Okinawa and their daughter was born in February, 1956. Her name is Junko Fukuhara. Jerry wrote Toyoko and sent money. His last letter was sent from Chicago in 1958. Unfortunately, that same year, Toyoko died. Fukuhara-san was taken to live with her grandmother. No one ever notified Jerry that Toyoko had died. In her mother's effects there are papers with the names Sgt. John D. Faver, Jr., nickname "Dee" from San Antonio, Texas; and Sgt. John H. Comments: I am looking for any information about my brother, Maurice Eugene Watson, ID: US-55-260-773. In 1952, he was stationed at Camp Pickett Virginia, Company B 3rd Medical Training Battalion 2131 st. Area Service Unit M.R.T.C. He served in Korea, and was wounded there also. I would like to know what area of Korea he served in and what year he was there. He is now deceased. I have listed a few names from a picture taken at Camp Pickett, VA. Group Picture Names: George H. Dettmer, William A Berlew, Ralph J. Kaufman, Richard W. Uher, Burl Branham, Hubert J. Hightower, David S. Hayes, Julian O. Martinez, Calvin Mitchell, James L. Strong, Frank DeLeon, Richard L. Miller, Phillip C. Grippi, Robert L. Woods, Melvin E. Parde, and Arnold L. Johnson. I would like to thank anyone in advance for any help you might be able to offer me. It would be much appreciated.
