Comments: I came from Tagus AFB IN JULY OF 1951 to Kimpo days after it was taken from the Chinese &.North Koreans. We set up Quantset Hut for camera repair and got down to business supports missions. I came as an Airman 2nd. After we got our hoches built we settled in our tour. We did have some air raids up to The end of Dec 1951. On New Year’s Eve at or near midnight BED CHECK CHARLE FLY OVER OUR TENT AND WENT DIRECTLY TO THE 4th fighter Side of the base dropping insincere on F-86 Super Sabre air craft, causing minor damage. Antiaircraft gun batteries fired 10 thousand rounds as the enemy aircraft flew way. We worked our tails off supporting our mission.
We did get to go on 3day R&R every once in a while for some relaxation. We lost approximately 18 due enemy ground fire. Our RF-51 photo aircraft had to fly at lower altitude at level flight in order to take pictures of enemy installations things went pretty well for the next six months and I left in July 1952 and returned home.

Keywords: The above information is true as the best of my knowledge as I seen it while I was in South Korea at Kimpo AFB (K-14)

Comments: Looking for Bobbie? Humphreys? (spelling). He was my tent mate and a radio operator by assignment. Now and then he would help me operate the MARS Station for our daily QSO's with San Francisco. Bobby also was a flight cadet in Arlington, TX prior to 1957. That didn't pan out.
In 1958 Bobby lived in the Dallas, TX area. Have not had any luck finding him. Maybe someone out there knows of him and can get us together, unless he has passed on.
