Comments: On orders (1955) was assigned to the 3rd Communications Squadron at Elmendorf, AK, but on arrival, changed to 6981st RSM as part of USAF Security Service (now the 25th AF). Looking for anyone who served 1955 thru 1956 period. Final assignment was a Detachment 3 at Pt. Barrow, AK (It became Detachment 4 during 1956) with a total of 25 men.

Comments: Just found this web site. Anyone served in ak at the same time i did? Was also at Adak for 6 weeks in 1951.Was sent to Naknek in Nov. of that year. We were the first ones to move into the new living quarters. Spent a few days in old WWII quanset huts. Very primitive.
