He was a Aircraft Mechanic on the C119s and also played on the football team.
I am trying to help Jim's family collect anything that might have his service number or anything that I can use to complete a records check. Jim's offical records were destroyed in the St Louis fire and we need this info to get a new DD214. Jim is currently living in an assited living faciality but the family would like to try and get him into a local vetran facility.

Comments: My father-in-law, Paul Arndt, is now 80. He served in the 483rd TCW at Ashiya AFB Kyushu from July 1952 to July 1954. He had various assignments dealing with supply and loading C-119s. There was a huge flood in the city of Kyushu beginning in June 1953 in which he helped the local people. He also remembers pushing crates of supplies out the back of C-119's at night over Korea.
