The 483rd TCG transported personnel and supplies by C-119 s from Japan to Korea. During the final months of the conflict, it alternated with the 314th TCG to airdrop supplies to a detachment of the 502nd Tactical Control Group, located on a five thousand-foot mountain near Chongmong-ni. In late June 1953, the 483rd TCG airlifted reinforcements and cargo to areas behind the western half of the UN line.

being a 15 year old kid, and having a collection of zippo lighters was searching for one.
i came across a faded silver colred lighter
it has the words" HEADQAURTER 483D T.C. WING ASHIYA JAPAN" on the back, there is a logo on the front that is sort of hard to make out but it is baby blue with copper colored clouds, what looks to be hills and a dark blue sky with "483 trooop carrier" and other words along the bottom that faded away, any information as to this please email me

Comments: Played on the Ashiya AFB Football Team and the Air Force All-Stars in Tokyo in 1954-5 Season. We took the All-Service Championship that year in the Tori Bowl.
