Comments: I read Woody Woodward's piece on the 2157th with interest, at:
http://usafhpa.com/2013/08/03/2157th-ars-korea-in-mid-1950s/
I have two minor corrections plus my list of pilots while I was there.
1. It's 28 Oct 2016 as I write, and I'm still kickin'. I know we lost Woody not so long ago, and I felt his loss deeply because I was his crew member on many flights. He was a great guy!
2. There was one other pilot rescue he didn't know about. I do because I was medic on it;.
We rescued an F-86 pilot, Capt. Robert M. Suits, who punched out and landed in a skraggy forest on the steep side of a mountain. The pickup was risky and required all three crewmen to give it most intense attention. The mission flew on 27 Feb 56..
I would very much like to know who the pilots were [I lost my personal flight log and can't remember].
List of pilots while I was there [I think it's all of them].:
Maj Heller Emerson E 23678A
Maj Cecil Thomas J 23654A
Capt Brown Otis H AO 829863
Capt Peterson William R AO 832877

Comments: I am the Grandson of an AF pilot that flew a H-19 in Korea in the 2157th ARS. My grandfathers name was Captain Raymond Allen Lowery. Sadly we lost him in a chopper crash in the mountains of Bogata, Columbia on 09/09/1958. My family has so little left from his service I would appreciate any info or memories anyone may have. Photos are also welcome. I know he was decorated by the British Airforce for resuing a downed British pilot.

was under MATS. I was wondering if the 2157th was also under MATS?
Thanks.
