Comments: I served with petty officer T.P. Achee with VC-33 Atlantic City, N.J. 1553/1956.
Supposedly, T.P. was an enlisted pilot, WW2, awarded the Medal of Honor for dropping his disabled aircraft into a Jap ship.
I cannot confirm his story. Anyone out there remember T.P.

Comments: I was one of the last to leave atlantic city. To go to Quansit point. It was a sad
day for most of us. To look out on the flight line and only see the oil on the
tarmack where the aircraft had been sitting only a few moments earlier. I spent a
year at Quansit point then being sent pax river for the rest of my time. I have
located one of the ad 5 n. there are only 4 known to exist. The one that I found
belongs to the. Collings foundation located in Stou mass. Th airplane is on
display Ina hangar at Quansit point. I had a lot things and have donated to
them. They tell me most is on display with the plane. I would like to hear from
any one from the squadron

Comments: On June 25,1953, the port catapult malfunctioned,
aboard the big carrier, USS Lake Champlain CVA-39,
sending a run-away shot with VC-33-N AD-4N Skyraider
shot over board into the Sea of Japan off of the
east coast of North Korea. The crew Lt.Arthur F.
Keown,ALC.A.E.Peloquin,AT3.R.O.Nault, were rescued by
the USS Moale (DD-693).
