Keywords: Joined the squadon at the end of 1952 left a he end of 1953. I was a plane capt and engine mechanic. During that time I went with 4 diferent TDA. on the Coral Sea twice, The FDR once and another smaller carrier, which I can't remember. We boarded either in Norfork or Newport, FL. On one cruise we disemparked at Newport, only to find we had no plane available to return us to Qounset PT, so we spent the weekend at the Jacksonville Air Base, then we were put on a train which took us back. A three day trip. I enjoyed my duties, but left in the fall of 1953 I had 4 budies from Michigan, one lives in Jenison, one in Bay Ciy and one in Detroit. I would enjoy making ccntact with them. Alway wanted to revist the Base at Quonset Pt but never was able to.

Met a VC-12 sailor today at the local Elks
Americanism Parade , (2606). His name is Frank
and the last name was tricky so didnt get it written down. Was on about 5 or 6 carriers doing
ECM work from a Skyraider. Very interesting work.
I was stationed at NAS Barbers Point, HI during
the yrs stated above. Maybe you can check your
list and see if his name and location is listed.
If not, I will keep an eye out for him and let you know. 73, Don Morse

Comments: Have lost all contact with the first VC-12 Detachment members that went to Korea in the summer of 1950 and later were transferred to VC-11 at San Diego. Anyone know the names and locations of any Detachment members?
The memories of the AT shop shipmates at Quonset have faded with the years. An AT by the name of Hoke gave me rides to NYC on some weekends. Anyone recollect a 5'11", dark blonde hair with a sunburned nose, 19 yr. old, green AT2? Would be happy to hear from you.
