Brinkley Bass (DD-887) in early 1955 and served until April, 1957 when I was released from active duty. I was a Storekeeper 3rd Class but made 2nd Class if I reenlisted. I made two far eastern cruises to the South Pacific and Destroyer Division 52 was assigned to the 7th Fleet. We patrolled in the Formosa Straights and saw several countries including Hong Kong, Japan, Phillipines, Australia, etc. I have been a law enforcement officer now 38 years and am still employed.
