Comments: Hi, I am the great nephew of SGT Bobby Jack Van
Combs. To my knowledge, I am the last living
military member in the family and I have been trying
to locate anyone with any infomation regarding his
passing or simply any friends of his who have any
stories to share. Almost all of his siblings have
passed on and only a few of us know anything of him
at all. I recently discovered the names of a few
friends of his while he served. They were a Carl C
Hunter of Wilmington N.C. and Robert Scott. If
anyone has any information at all, please let me
know. God Bless.

Comments: My father was a medic in the Punchbowl from 1951-52 with the 1666 Med Co, 5th Inf Reg. I'm interested in hearing from anyone who may have known him or served in that time and place. Like many Korean War veterans, Dad maintained a 'code of silence' about his time there, although he occasionally let slip a few details: being holed up under friendly fire, administering placebo instead of morphine due to risk of overdosing the wounded, walking single file always to avoid landmines. I have several pictures he took, including a view from one of the hills overlooking the Punchbowl.

My father was David E. Eckert, of Pennsylvania. He was in F Co. 5th RCT. He was at the Puson Perimeter from July31, 1950 to August 8, 1950. He was wounded in battle and went to the Fukoka Station Hospital in Japan.

I am trying to put the pieces of his life together, but I am having no luck. During his life, he often spoke of his military life, but I never had much interest to listen. Now that he's gone, I realize that I should have paid attention, and I am full of regrets. If anyone has any information, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Comments: Clark Manley Davis aka Curly in our family. He was my late Grandfathers little brother. Although he gave his life for this country and our freedom before I was born. I wish I could have met and known him. If you served with my greatuncle I would like to hear about it. He was awarded the silver star posthumously for his actions on October 20,1951. I have heard many variations of what happened. But, after all these years I don,t know how accurate they are. If you were there when my uncle was killed in action and know the how, where, when circumstances ect. I would very much appreciate it. He is regarded as a hero in our family for his actions but, I believe anyone who served in combat is a hero.

Comments: My dad, Vernon Becker, was in Korea from Feb/March-December 1953 in the Punchbowl area. He was injured around June 13-15 and believes that someone pulled him to safety when he was knocked unconscious. He thinks the man who helped him might have been from Michigan. My dad recieved a phone call from the man who he thinks saved him, but due to a bad connection the line went dead and he was not able to get his name or address. As his daughter, I would very much like to talk to the man who saved him and share with him all of the wonderful things that have happened to my dad since then and send him a very big thank you from our entire family. If anyone has ideas of how to locate this man, we would certainly appreciate it. A special and sincere thank you to all veterns
