Spent 33 more years as civil servant for NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt MD. Retired a few years back (again) when they called me back as Chief Engineer for James Webb Space Telescope.

Comments: I've come across some photos of and taken by my Grandfather during his time with/at Clearing Company 2nd Medical Battalion sometime during the Korean war.
Lt. Col. Walter Baltz was his name and he was a dentist.
He passed in the 70's and I never met him so I don't have much info. They were found with some of my father's Vietnam stuff when he recently passed.
(Dad was also a dentist in Vietnam 70-72, but with a Cab division)

Comments: VETERANS OF 2nd Med, Co D. I arrived at Co D in March of 1970. First assignment was company clerk. Next was a TDY Ambulance Driver at Camp Pelham. Later was assigned to Camp Greaves, across Freedom Bridge, next to the DMZ. Stayed there a long time especially after 2nd Med was moved to Camp Casey. I am looking for the Medic/Ambulance Driver I worked with at Camp Greaves. My health now consists of Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, a Aortic Heart Valve Replacement. Any and all reference to Agent Orange has been met with resistance from VA and private physicians

Comments: Need some help with 2nd med and agent orange....I was there 1969-1971...in D compant of 2nd med........I'm still trying to get agent orange approval. They said that 2nd med is not on the list of AO sprayings....my DAV rep said that I needed to prove that I actually was on the DMZ [ and not juist 4 miles away, as 2nd med was ]....I know I went to get diesel fuel in a truck and also went to another camp on a laundry runs and being 100% mobile I was all over the place...but need to prove it!!!.....any ideas? thx.

Someone a few months back sent me a document showing they were recognized service connection for agent orange and.other herbicides. Do not remember his unit or name but was only few miles from 2nd Medical Bn.There was only one day
Diference in his and my arrival and depature date. I have misplaced it. I am already service cnnected 100% but this document will help on additional back pay, If it was you please contact me.

Comments: My dad, Howard Johnston from Chicago, IL served in Korea from 1951-1953 in the 2nd Medical Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, Clearing Company. I'm trying to help him figure out what battles he was in and which one(s) he got medals for. He didn't talk about it much while I was growing up, so it's hard to help him.
