Comments: I'm looking for information about my grandfather. his name was Thomas D. Welch. He flew with the vmf212, vmf312, and vmf214. I haven't gotten his service records yet so the best dates I have for service is the late 40's through his medical discharge during the Korean war. He was injured on an air craft carrier. His legs were badly damaged. If you have any info or know where to go to get some please contact me . Thank you

Comments: In May 1956, VMA-212 flew 4,276.2 hours, beating the all service record. 7,711 pieces of ordnance was dropped, more than 315 tons. I'm wondering if the record still stands and where are all the guys who set this record.

Comments: I would appreciate any information that you have on his service, or any fellow memebers of his squadran that are still surving.
I also wanted to share with everyone, the fantastic book I am reading titled "Short Straw"-Memoirs Of Korea, it was written by Captian Bernard W. Peterson who was with the above squadrons, I am not sure if that is the complete list, since I have just started the book. Nonethelss, I just wanted to let everyone know that this book was available, and was an excellent reflection of the war.
