Comments: Greetings!
My dad served in the 5th Marine Regiment - H and S Company from 1953 until the war's end. I have a picture of him with a Donald Dunn of Evansville Indiana. He also had a pal Bart Gray/Grey from Texas. He turns 80 this year & I am creating a video of his life. His name is Don Denny, originally from Indianapolis.
Any help in locating these two vets & anyone who remembers Dad is most appreciated!!
Thanks so much!

Comments: Just published, THEY CALLED HER RECKLESS -- A TRUE STORY OF WAR,
LOVE AND ONE EXTRAORDINARY HORSE,by Janet Barrett,is the full
story of the little Korean pony who became the warhorse of the
5th Regiment in the Korean War. Awarded two Purple Hearts,
promoted to sergeant(and later staff sergeant), Reckless hauled
ammo to the front lines, saved lives, raised spirits, and was
loved and respected by all who knew her. The memories and stories
shared by dozens of Marines who knew her in Korea and thereafter
made this book possible. Thank you all! Included are 14 pages of
photographs,
many never before published. Book is available through various
Marine Corps sites and on Amazon.com.

Comments: Rogene H. Kilpatrick is my cousin. He is in his last battle. Bits and pieces of few words about his Korea service prompted me to search his records. Some are incomplete on his DD214 (noted in the remarks section) but I am requesting more data from the VA. Meanwhile I've discovered records of his H/S company presence at Pusan in the 1/5 roster online with the marine "university". I hope to confirm his service in Korea and submit for his earned ribbons and medals. Hopefully his DD214 can be updated at this late date. Service dates were from 1948 to 1953. He and his wife have no children and I'd like to help certify his record. Any suggestions welcomed. If you knew him - please contact me. thanks. Vic Campbell USN - Vietnam '72-3

Grandfather seeking proof for his service in Korean War as a civilian interpreter of the H and S Company from 1951 to 1952- there are no official records of service by Korean citizens. He was drafted by Marines in Masan, retired in Seohwa in 1952, mainly stayed in "middle/east frontline" in Gang Won Do(province) area.
He remembers arriving in Goo-ryong-po port in a LST and moved through various cities by car in Gang Wong Do area where the fights were very harsh. He served under Capt Raymond (?) for 3 months before Capt. was promoted to Major/ returned to US. He remembers an incident near ChoonChun near Soyang river where he almost died/ many others were killed/ they carried ammunition and C-ration(food) on Jigae(a Korean carrier tool).
If any of these stories or persons are relatable/ familiar to you, please email us.

Let's help make Keller's wish come true!!! , I have come up with
the following personal data on Keller, which you many be
interested in:
Born: July 21, 1929
Enlisted: February 11, 1947
Commissioned: June 6, 1966
Service No: 097104
And now, the note...
----------------------------------------------
My ex-Father in law, Captain Harry Keller, USMC (Retired), is
dying of cancer and has become almost completely bed
ridden. He is a 27 year vet. of the Corps, one of the Chosin
Frozen and a two tour Nam Vet. In talking with him the past
few days, he has expressed an interest in hearing from
Marines (any era), as he really misses the camaraderie of
the Corps. His E-Mail address is:
CAPTHARRYKELLER@netscape.net .
I would be grateful if any Marines out there could drop him a
note.
Thanks and Semper Fi

OK; lets help our brother out!!! Perhaps some of you served with
Captain Keller while in the Corps. He served in HQ, 5th Marines
