Back when a dollar was worth 360 yen, and Tokyo wasn't the most
expensive city in the world!!
- and now there's only ONE airworthy B-29 left in existence (
One AC told me that those WRIGHT engines in the B-29 were the
WRONG engines, and that it was the best THREE ENGINE airplane in
the world. - or so it would seem)

Comments: My father was a Staff Sgt. with the 98th. His name was
Raul Gonzalez. He was from Cuba, and spoke English with
a heavy accent.
Sadly, he is no longer with us. However, he has left me
with hundreds of photos of the area around Yokota, and
many faces of those that served there. I also have
photos that he took aboard the USNS General D.I.
Sultan, which arrived in San Francisco Bay on March 27,
1954 bringing home servicemen from Yokota and Okinawa.
If you would like to see these photos, or if you knew
my dad, feel free to contact me
Thanks
