Comments: Found an old film reel that my Dad shot while stationed in Korea. 15 minutes of footage around the base with people from his unit. Also includes a visit to the base by Marilyn Monroe in Feb. 1954. I have pictures as well. He passed away back in 1984 and never shared anything about his time there. I recently transferred the old 8mm film and it looks like a great group there.

Comments: Hi,
George Curran A2c - 4th AP, Aug 52 - Aug 53 Kimpo
I am helping my father reconnect with anyone he served with during the war.
He has a lot of memories and would like to swap some war stories with fellow AP members.
Thanks and I will make sure he gets any info / contacts,
Joe Curran (Camp Red Cloud 1985-1986)

Comments: I have found a very poignant letter from Cpl. Paul Gravelink of the 4th Air Police Sq. written in November, 1951, from Kimpo AFB in Korea to his parents in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Ancestry.com says that Gravelink died in 1990 in Los Angeles after service in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. I would be happy to hear from anyone stationed at Kimpo AFB during this period and especially from anyone who knew Paul Gravelink.

Comments: I would very much appreciate some information regarding Korean War Vetrans; especially with respect to the 4th fighter squardron.
My dad is getting very old and I would like to replace his medals/uniform to give to him before he dies.
I tried to contact the Congressman that represents his area (last year) when he enlisted but to no avail. Being in Canada, it is very difficult to get information.
My dad has dual citizenship (Canadian and American) but the Americans do not seem to be helpful. He served for the USAF and I have his service # etc.
My dad was born in the US and went to war for them but being so far away it is difficult.
He has no, dare I say, relics/artifacts of his service (fire in 1961 and a move) but I would like to be able to give something to my daughter AKA his grand daughter.
Dad does not talk about the war but I have managed to get a letter from him giving me permission to inquire etc.
Would somebody please help me.
Sincerely,
John Edward Nolan

Comments: Dave Richert, I was stationed at Kimpo along with Jabara, Lonnie Moore,. Col Johnson, Col Royal N Baker, any many others. It was the bast of times and the worst of times. The 334th, 335th, 336th FIS squadrons were the best of the best. On one particular day the 4th FIS shot dowb a record 52 Migs. The majority of the MIG pilots were russians. E-mail me sometime and lts takl.
