Comments: In March 1951 I rotated to Japan from Korea, after
serving with Headquarters 5th Air Force from July
1950. We had traveled from Taegue to Pyongyang and
back after the Inchon invasion in september.
I was assigned to the 3rd after they had moved to
Iwakuni, Japan. Our wing was flying B-26's on
missions to Korea and we were awaiting the opening of
K-8 at Kunson. In August I went with the advanced
party to open K-8. The wing then came over in
September. It was one of the greated outfits I
served with.

Comments: I was a member of the 3rd Air Police Sqdn., at Johnson Field, Japan, when the unit moved from Yokato Air Base to Johnson. The 35th Fighter wing was to receive the F-80 and Johnson's runway was too short so the flying units swapped with the 35th going to Yokato and the 3rd moving to Johnson. When the Korean War started in June 1950 I was in the first group of USAF personnel to go to Korea. I remained in Korea through October1951. I was injured on July 18, 1950, while guarding a convoy between K-2 and Taegu, South Korea. Would like to hear from anyone who was at Johnson or K-2. Thanks, Jim (Big AL) Allen.

Comments: i am 1st Lt. Raymond J. Cyborskis niece Janet Leigh (Cyborski) Korem. I would very much like to correspond with anyone who knew my uncle or possibly saw what happened on the day he died. I am not sure what the day is that he died, i get two dates that keep coming up: June 28 and August 30, 1950. He was one of the first Korean War casualties. He is one of four brothers, the youngest, Roy is still alive and doing well. My fathers name was Joseph Raymond and the other brother Richard. I would appreciate so very much if i could find just one person who could tell me anything about my uncle. And would want of course, to retreive his remains which lay at the bottom of the Yellow Sea along with his plane. Tail # 44-34238. Thank you so very much and God Bless America !!!!
Keywords: 1st Lieutenant Raymond J. Cyborski piloted a B-26 Bomber launched from Ashiya Air Base on an unknown mission to his family. He ultimately crashed into the Yellow Sea near Northern Chido Island dying on impact and also his gunner, Jose C. Campos with him.
