Comments: Served from June 1952 to March 1954 at Kadena A.F.B. guarding the bombers and working in the stockade. When I first got there I bunked in the old quansit huts but later they built some new huts and I got to bunk in one of those. I had an upper bunk....... I remember Capt. Bolie, Sgt. Gus (don't remember his last name) Gustavison or something?? I remember the monkey Joko and remember they finally had to tie him to a post up on the hill cause he got so mean!
Anyone remember me please contact me. Been looking in the V.F.W. and Legion magazine for years for a reunion of the 430th

Comments: Originally from Arkansas, I was at Kadena 52 to 53, First night on Kadena, Lind was in the bunk above me, saw a rat in his mosquito net and jumped out of the bed turning the bed over. The first Sgt told us Okinawa would be as popular as Hawaii...even though it was a muddy mess and no one believed him.
Does anyone remember the monkey named Jocko that lived behind the NCO house....everyone would tease him and get him mad then someone would walk by and Jocko would jump on them?
I remember Genue! He collected our laundry bags and brought back the fresh pressed laudry.
SSgt Mayfield's from Alabama , I was in his flight. Does anyone remember him drinking a bottle of hot pepper sauce?
Of course, like everyone at that time...I guarded planes first, and then was assigned to OSI where we processed people that was brought in by the boondockers.
If you are out there....join in....

Comments: I was assigned to the 430th Air Police Operations
from Jan 52 - Jul 53.I worked for Capt Bolie, MSgt
Day, TSgt Shively and SSgt Jeffries. TSgt Whittington
was the Investigations NCO. Maj Webb was the Wing
Provost Marshal as well as the Commander of the
unit. Sgt Tokuda was the Sgt in charge of the
Okinawan contingent and a young man by the name of
Genyu cleaned the offices and did our laundry. I
believe I remember Dale Dionne as a boondocker along
the Tobaru trail. I used to take care of DRs for the
guys who were cited for being off limits in New Koza,
Tobaru etc. I was there when canine's came in and
remember being scaired s--tl--s of them except when
having one to many. Although I was a skinny
administrative airman working in operations I do
believe it was one of my greatest experiences.
Didn't Maj Webb hijack the blacktop for the squadron
from the trucks on Route 1? I do wish the 430th and
19th Air Police could have a reunion.

Comments: I served with the 430th in 52-53 it was redesignated the 19th AP Swdn I believe in 53. a Maj Webb was the commander and at the entrance to the Sqdn area was a sign that read"Far Easts Finest". We use to refer to the unit as Webbs West Point, Some of the peopls I re mber were Pinkus, Hall, Lincoln, Kidder, Capt Boley, Capt Green, Tom Shuh. I also was with the 93d Bomb Sqd,While I was assigned to the 430th they formed a Sentry Dog unit. Pinkus was one of the dog handlers.I did have contact with some of the personnel but that was lost decades ago.
