Comments: Dear Ted,
How do I go about seeing if any of your members have
served in this above
cited unit, i.e. 302d Military Intelligence Service
Company - later changed
to MI Co. This unit was disbanded some years after
the Korean War and was
re-named 500th MI Gp. I served in this unit from 52 -
54. It was basically
a unit that provided intelligence (basically,
perishable OB intelligence) to
the G-2 from the vast interrogations of POWs
conducted at the Div and lower
level. At 302d we amalgamated these reports before
sending onto 8th Army Hqs
G-2. It was always a small unit - no more than 25
personnel - with its CO
being a Lt Col; it consisted of two companies: Admin
and Ops.

Comments: I was a member from 1951 to March 1953. When I first joined my unit, it was known as 164th MIS Detachment. It was a very colorful unit. We have had a number of reunions in San Francisco.
