Comments: I'm Looking for pictures and any info on my dad, Jimmy Williams. He said he was in Howe Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines and joined in 1952 and served 3 years as a medic until he was injured and received a purple heart. He was living in Birmingham, Al when he signed up.
My cousin said daddy was in Hall Company, 1st medical division, 5th marines and was in areas referred to as vegas and reno. Daddy had a stroke in June and we can't find any pictures or info on his time serving his country. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Comments: My father-in-law, Everett B Mauger, was a HM2 and a Bronze Star awardee with the 1st Marine Div during the time of it's fight at and around the Chosin Reservoir. He has never been very talkative about the time he spent with the Marines in Korea. Little bits about how difficult it was to care for the wounded and evacuate both the wounded and the dead. I know he is proud of this time period in life. Everett is now 89 years old and a Retired Master Chief Hospital Corpsman with 30 years of service.

My name is Erin Ruth, I am a student at Arizona State University, and I am writing a nonfiction narrative based on the heroic actions of Willaim R. Charette of the Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, on the 27th of March, 1953. I am looking to correspond with Marines and Corpsmen that served with Charette, Marines and Corpsmen that were part of the F Company 2/7, and/or Marines and Corpsmen that had any part in the counterattack on Vegas Hill. Also if there is any possibility that Charette's children or grandchildren read this message, I would really appreciate any information from them as well. I have included a link to the caption of Charette's Medal of Honor if that may be of any help to anyone.

Thank you very much for your time!

Leibold. The vast majority of the photographs are of a personal nature (i.e., 'downtime' of G 3/7 Marines and Corpsmen, and assorted glimpses' of off-duty hours around the compound), while others' are of a much more official, and therefore graphic, nature (i.e., the O.R. during the standard workday, and Med-Evac helo arrivals). I would like to share these photos with visitors to this webpage, but am unsure if it is possible (or officially permissible) to scan them to the site. I will welcome all suggestions on the matter. Last, my deep appreciation to the owners' of this site, and, of course, my everlasting love and gratitude to the men of lstMarDiv., 1950-1953. God bless each and every one of you and your families.

Unit: E Med

Comments: My father, Donald "Woody" Roberts is interested in getting in touch with anyone that may have served with the Easy Med during this time. He remembers some names: a Supply Sargeant by the name of McCann, Corpsman Fred Dowding, Clovis M.Barnett from Mississippi, "Inky" Ingstrom, Corp. CHarles M. Brown and Burjois from Wisconsin.

Service or Relationship: Marine Veteran - Korea

Comments: Webmaster: The Marine Corps never had any 1st Marine Medical Battalions, or 2nd Marine Medical Battalions, the correct name is 1st Medical Battalion. Medical battalions are all Navy staffed. 1stMedBn was located adjacent to my unit in Korea (VMO-6), we delivered all our med-evacs to them for treatment. Although we loved our Corpsmen, none of them were Marines. Capt Chuck Langin, USMC (Ret)

Comments: I am looking for information on my uncle, John Wesley Rogers, Jr. Uncle Wes was a navy corpsman and made the walk from Chosin. He never talked much about it, but his fingers, toes, and feet gave him problems throughout life. He retired after a career in the navy and passed away in 1980. He taught my younger brother and I how to hunt and shoot. We miss him. He was a great uncle. Any information would be appreciated. I am an engineer and professor at the Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, VA, 24450, (540) 464-7411. Thanks. Gary
