Comments: I would like to get in contact any living veteran of 48th maintenance Squadron from 1952-53 years stationed in Chaumont France. I was head of the Machine shop and was very active in the hanger. They sent me to Munic, Germany to the Seventh Army Non-Commissioned Officers Academy to learn about army tactics, leadership, in case we were atacked.Col. Rusell L. Hawkins was the Commanding officer.

né le 1/01/1956 à Dijon France. Il l'a reconnu le 30 12 1955 à
Los Angeles.Ce fils est décédé mais il avait 4 enfants qui
aimeraient savoir si leur grand-père est encore en vie.Je suis
la tante de son fils et la seule qui se rappelle de lui.Erwin

Comments: I do have some pictures of the base and down town and Troyes, my old hang out, and big times at the Central Bar, which is no longer there. I remember those long winter rides back to the base driving on ice covered high way. We worked in tents for 2 1/2 years and ate "C" rations as well. After looking at those old pictures I don't know how we stood it 20 below at times. My friend Bob Cox was in the warehouse along the main road to the base when someone was working on a F86 and the guns went off and shot holes into the door of the warehouse, just mist Bob, one person got hit. It was a good thing no one was on the road at that time.

My father was very troubled throughout his life. He always said he was innocent of the crime he was acused of. In the process he became a recluse and died alone.
