Comments: I served on the LSMR-525 for the period 1953 until January 1955. I was an engineer
with the rate of Second Class Engineman. I kept no records or pictures of this
period although I wish I had. Don't remember much of names of shipmates but it has
been a long time. My age is now 85 so a good many of them have probably passed
away. Have been meaning to attend a reunion which are held yearly but they are
very expensive and I haven't been able to. If any one from the 525 reads this, it
would be intereresting to hear from you. Looking to hear from anyone from this
period of time.

Comments: I'm trying to inquire some information or pictures that
anybody might have of my grandfather. His name is Paul
Mantor, served from '50-'50 on a few different ships,
but this one being his favorite. I don't have a lot of
information, but he said he served on the UDT and was
a part of the LSMR 525. He is 79 years old and is
terminally ill. I would like to know if there are any
other survivors/friends/acquaintances still around.
Please if you have any information, let me know. You
can contact me directly by phone or email.
Thank you,
Steven Kramer

Comments: Greetings,
I am the Caretaker of the Veterans Exhibit at the Butler County Museum in Poplar Bluff MO. While doing some research, I found that the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce sponsored the St. Francis River and had a plaque on board. I would be proud if we could be the repository of the St. Francis River's historical artifacts and archives to be on public display if you don't already have one. The actual St. Francis River runs through our county so I see the connection. I see you had a reunion in Branson in 1999. That's in our back yard.! Please let me know!

Comments: My dad, QM3 Lafayette Arnold Smith served on the LSMR 525 in Korea. He wants to know about any upcoming reunions, any photos, and how everyone that served aboard the LSMR 525 are doing. He is doing very well and is in great health at 74 years of age.
He can be reached at 661-803-0596. He has no e-mail but e-mail can be sent to me at lapdblue@aol.com or 25921@lapd.lacity.org and I will make sure he gets it!

Comments: My grandfather, LT Raymond J. Sponsler was the comissioning officer of LSMR 525 and served in the Pacific 1945. I regret to say he died in 1994 before we had a chance to talk about his time at war with me, I don't think he liked to talk about it too much. I was wondering if anyone out there had any info on battles, stories, ect. of he or his shipmates. Thank you in advance.

Also I am curious if our skipper for 1953 is still alive.? his name is Larry Farqhar and was originally on the Arizona at Pearl when it was hit. Also looking for our Exec. C.E. Davis who I think came from Texas.
