Comments: My brother, Louis R. Mercaldo, served on the Cadmus from around 1956-1959. He suddenly passed away on March 19, 2002, at the age of 63. Today, his ashes are being released into the sea off of Cape May, New Jersey, aboard a Coast Guard Cutter.
I was very young when he served, (I'm 12 years younger), but I do remember that he went to Italy, France, Spain, Gibralter, and perhaps other places during his time on the Cadmus. If anyone remembers Lou Mercaldo and can share any stories, my brother, myself, and his widow and three daughters would love to hear them. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Dorothy Mercaldo McCrane
