Comments: My Dad, USN Ret CWO2 Franklin Delano Wood Served on the USS
Bayonne during the Korean War. My Dad passed in 2004 with over
42 years service to his country. I recently started scanning
some of his old Navy Photos he took while serving on the USS
Bayonne. I would like to pass the photos on to any of his old
shipmates. Most of the photos are of repairs at Dry dock in Japan
and of him on Liberty.

Comments: I am a Paralegal with a law firm in Dallas, TX. We represent Mr. Edwin E. Chowning in an asbestos lawsuit. Mr. Chowning was a Machinist Mate on the USS Bayonne (PF 21) from 1950-51. I am trying to locate former shipmates who might recall working with/around our client, Edwin E. Chowning, during these years. I would also like to find out if you recall working with/around any asbestos products during your time on the USS Bayonee (PF 21). I appreciate your attention to this matter. I can be reached at 1.800.222.2766 or via e-mail at jjohnson@baronbudd.com.

Comments: My Grandfather was onboard the USS Bayonne from Januray 1951 to 1953. If you were on board serving in this time please contact me. My Grandfather would like to speak or even see some old shipmates. He was a Gunners Mate if that helps. Most of his friends called him "Smitty" because of his last name. His Name is J.R. Smith.
Thank you,
His grandson

Comments: Several residents of the city of Bayonne, NJ are looking to set up a museum dedicated to our namesake ship. We are looking for any crewmembers with memorabilia or stories to place in this museum.
The site we are looking at is the former Military Ocean Terminal here in Bayonne, where the battleship New Jersey was supposed to go until the recent decision by SecNav to send her to Camden.
We would appreciate _any_ photos of our namesake vessel - there are only a couple on file with the Navy. Also memorabilia from the ship and her crew, and stories from crewmembers.
Please write me at my home address or send me email.
Thank you!
