Comments: I'm looking for anyone who remembers my uncle, Allen Buskey, who was assigned to the 629th in Korea sometime during 1951-52, the dates I'm not sure. His brother, Donald Buskey, served in the infantry at the same time and Allen used to visit him near the front lines. If anyone can remember the dates he served and some stories about the time there, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Comments: I posted a few years back about my Uncle Tony, Antonio Sarlo. He may have
been known as 'Tony' or 'Anthony'. Antonio was his birth name. He was from
WATERBURY CONNECTICUT and he was in his early 20's during his time in
Korea.
He enlisted in the US Army in August of 1952 and served in the 629th Med Co
in Korea from 1953-1954. I am looking for anyone who might have known
my uncle, or who might have pictures or information regarding his service in
Korea.
In my original post I shared inaccurate information when I wrote that he
earned 2 Bronze Stars. My uncle actually earned 2 Bronze Service Stars with
his Korean Service Medal, among others. I have a collection of photos from
my father who also served in Korea at the same time his brother, my Uncle
Tony, was there. I can share these with anyone who is interested. You may
be able to identify loved ones or places in the photos.
I look forward to hearing from anyone who is willing to share. Thank you.

Comments: I was assigned to the 629th Med.Co Clearing from June 1963 - September 1965. It was my first permanent assignment after attending medical Training at Fort Sam Houston, TX. Shortly, thereafter I was transferred to the 695th Ambulance Co. The 629th re-located to Prum, Germany. Both of these units plus the 427th Ambulance Co. were assigned to the 36th Medical Battalion,Hanau, Germany, 31st Medical Group located at Darmstadt, Germany. The 36th Battalion Commander's name was LTC Motson. I served under three Commanders in the 629th. Cpt. Benchoff,Cpt Greene and also had a Doctor as the Commander, but cannot remember his name. I stayed with the Battalion until my re-assignment in April 1966 to Vietnam VIA Fort Lewis Washington.I do remember many of the soldiers names that were assigned during this period. Most of the soldiers were draftees. Many of the NCOs I also remember them as well.

Comments: My father, known as Don or Donald rather than his real name of Alfred, died over 10 years ago. I just came across the name of the unit with which he served and wondered if anyone remembers serving with him? He was in Korea for 17 months. He said they were stationed so high up in the mountains that looking down at the river it looked like a stream. He mainly drove a jeep, but that's about all I know. Any other information would be so much appreciated.

Comments: I just learned from my father, John Sarlo, who is a Korean War veteran, late '53-early'55, that my Uncle Tony earned 2 Bronze Stars. I knew that he served during the war and engaged in combat, but I never knew much else about his time in the service. He actually died 8 years before I was born and the family never talks about him much. I am not even sure what I am looking for here, but I thought that I would post. Does anyone know my uncle? Antonio Sarlo, Waterbury CT? Please help.

My father passed away 10 years ago and discovering this film was a window into part of his life that he would not talk much about. I was wondering if anyone could help me with information or identifying any people in the pictures. At this point I am having the pictures transfered to disc so I will be able to down load them in a few days. Thank you so much for your help.

While not a 629 member I served in the same compound from January 1952 to November of 1952 and many of my good friends were attached to the 629.
