Comments: Was at Tinker AFB OK, Kelly, East Kelly. On the Buckner. On LST from Puson to Chinhae. TDY to Kimpo (K14) and a compound I remember as the 6401st to assemble tip tanks. Upon return to K10 I worked in alert and then squadron duty painting and installing shelves in quansets to keep busy. Didn't think I would ever get back to the states but returned on the Buckner to Seatle. First recall of names are Baily ,SSGT Mccadery ,Calvin Olson. I'm sure other names will be forthcoming. Hello all.

Keywords: I WAS ONE OF THE FIRST REPLACEMENTS ARRIVING FROM FUCHU, JAPAN AND LANDING AT PUSAN. FROM THERE, I BOARDED AN AF TRUCK TO K-10. AS CHIEF CLERK, I WAS REQUIRED TO PROCESS ALL THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS THAT CAME FROM KELLY BACK TO THE USA. I WAS PROMOTED TO SSGT WHILE THERE AND FROM THERE, I WAS ASSIGNED TO SEWART AFB, TENNESSEE IN FEB 54. WHAT I REMEMBER MOST WAS THE POKER GAMES USING KOREAN YEN. WHEN YOU WON A POT, IT SEEMED LIKE YOU WERE RICH WITH ALL THOSE PAPER BILLS WHICH WERE NOT WORTH MUCH. ALSO, I REMEMBER THE TWO R AND RS TO ITAZUKE WHICH WERE NICE. LT FRANK SMITH WAS MY BOSS AND A VERY NICE GUY TO WORK FOR.

WE LEFT JAPAN ON THE USS PVT JOE P MARTINEZ AND LANDED AT INCHON AND BOARDED A TRAIN BOUND FOR K-2 TAEGU. TAEGU WAS OUR HOME BASE FROM WHICH WE FANNED OUT ALL OVER KOREA TO RECOVER AS MUCH USABLE MATERIEL AS WE COULD. ANY ONE WHO WAS WITH THE 2ND IN 51-52-53, WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM THEM.

Comments: George and I MC'd two camp talent shows with the Band. We sang a few members and had fun. Also hammed it up on the base radio station, which lead me to take up Journalism and Communication at UofFlorida 1953/59. I just can't rember the names of many of my fellow Airman and would like to get a copy of some order so I could contact others. Bill from Wash.State were roomies in a tent and clerked together..I have been in touch with George and Harold whom we called "Chief" All for now. Give a holler if you can help. "We need more ammo handlers at K-9. Bill and I shipped them out.

Comments: Would like to hear from any 75th FireFighters. Was
in the75th ADW from March 1952 to December 1953 at
Kelly AFB and then K-10, Chinhea, Korea.

Being a CWO-4, USAF Retired, I spend the majority
of my 40 years in Fire Protection (Aircraft
Crash Fire Rescue).

Recently identified 48 former 75th ADW FireFighters names with some addresses, that I
served with at K-10, Chinhea, Korea.

Only 13 responded to my inquiry. It had been 45 years for any contact with most of the ole buddies and was really a great feeling.

Anyone wanting more information on Fire Fighter
can e-mail me: chief1@gnt.net

Would appreciate hearing from any of the former members at K-10 (Crash Boats, Navy @ Duffy,s, Aussies, i.e.).

Best regards, Bob Barrow

Comments: I ARRIVED ON A LST AT CHINHAE IN JANUARY 1953. LIKE MOST OF US, I ASKED MYSELF WHAT AM I DOING IN KOREA. WE SAILED FROM CORPUS CHRISTI. FOR THE NEXT 30 DAYS I WAS SEA SICK. I BELIEVE THE SITE THAT WE LANDED ON WAS CALLED K10. I SHOULD NOT HAVE LEFT KELLY AFB.

AT 17, IN KOREA WAS NOT MY IDEA SERVING MY COUNTRY.

HOWEVER, I GREW UP FAST.. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE MANY PEOPLE WHO HELPED ME THROUGH THE ORDEAL.

ESPECIALLY A STAFF SGT. WHICH I CANNOT RECALL HIS NAME. AND MANY OTHERS. THE STAFF SGT. WHO RESIDED IN MARTINSVILLE, VA OR WEST VA. WAS A GREAT GUY FOR A SGT.

WE WERE ASSIGNED TO THE MOTOR POOL. IF THE SGT. IS STILL AROUND PLEASE CALL ME AT 973 770-0949.

CAN ANY OF YOU OUT THERE TELL ME WHAT OUR MISSION WAS IN KOREA? IT WAS MORE LIKE A LAUREL AND HARDY MOVIE. THE CO WAS A CAPT. BECK.

HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU. ANYONE.
