Comments: Never made it to Korea. Was assigned to Tokyo but upon arriving in Japan learned unit had moved to Shiori AFB near Matsudo, Japan (about 25 miles from Tokyo). Looking for anyone who may have been there between April, 1954 and April, 1956, i.e. Jack Eloranta, Frank Barber, Alvin McAbee, Ted Sketo, "Beetle" Baily, or Al Splietof.

Comments: I am trying to obtain what "HQ 1401st ABWG (MATS)
means, and where was it located. Phil's papers say this was his most significant duty assignment at the time - 1952? He entered AF and did boot at Sampson, AFB - Nov. 1951, went to Univ of Alabama Feb 52-Apr52. I thought he went to Japan around 52-53-54? Base was prox. 30-40 miles from Tokyo, called: Kisarazu. There WAS a base there. I have papers from Japan stating this. Why would my brother have earned KOREAN SER MED-don't know if he served IN Korea. Anyone know: HQ1401ST ABWG(MATS)OR KISARAZU, JAPAN? E-mail:Idareedblanford@aol.com. Thank you and God Bless. Trish(Noland)Schiesser

We were looking forward to the reunion during 11/2001. It has been too long since the last. We must E-mail Bob Hirashima to continue with the reunion.

Mel Lemos, 6004th personnel,is living in Corpus Christi as a retired school teacher. From time to time we talk via phone. He is afraid of the PC and therefore not on the internet.

Jim Mhihalco - I need your e-mail address.

Does anybody know the whereabouts of Captain O'Connell?

After 30 years of service, I retired from the Federal Gov't - DOD Defense Contract Audit Agency.
