Comments: I'm writing the Autobiography of my brother in law, Col. Michael C. Horgan, retired, how now lives in Florida. He was with the 49th Fighter group, Itzuki and then Missawa, was Operations officer. He flew 132 missionsfrom Suwan, K-20 field.
Is there anyone out there who knew Mike and could give me any information about him while serving with him in Korea.
Incidentley, which makes his story so unique is that he flew 106 missions WW II, 132 Missions Korean and 100plus missions Viet Nam. Thanks.

Comments: I am researching a deathbed statement from my father-in-law. He is dying of brain cancer. He has told a number of people that most of the pilots that he knew during this period have died of cancer. He has made the statement that he handled atomic weapons with gloves only as all did during this period of time. He stated all the pilots did. He can not speak now and we are trying to determine the reason for this statement as he has never mentioned this before now to anyone. If anyone can shed a light on what he is talking about and is there a possible problem related to this era for these pilots. If you know of anyone that might know please forward this.

Part of the book centres on Low level Flak suppression missions flown by fighter bombers in support of these big bombers. If anyone is able to help me with this reasearch I'd like to hear from you.

I was stationed at K-2 in 1950 and 1951. A member of the 49th fighter bomber grp.We stayed in tents than later they built stucco barracks.I was wondering what ever happend to our old base?I would be glad to E-mail anyone who was there in this period of time. Thank You, Walt ( food Service Dept.)
