Comments: I just want to know if those two soldiers who landed in a helicopter in my town of Guiuan E. Samar who made us kids at the Kindergarten class all line up and gave us the best tasting crackers that I can ever remember, are still alive and who they were. It must have been around 1971-72. Our school was just between the Courthouse and office of the Municipality of Guiuan. I just want to thank them and tell them that I thought they were angels from heaven, how dashing they were and that I said when I grow up, I will marry an American, which I eventually did. I was only 5 years old then but I cannot forget those two soldiers and I just want to thank them for those crackers and for the dream. :)

Comments: My Fathers name was Marvin E Byers. He was a combat photographer on the island of Samar near a village called Guiuan. He shipped out of San francisco on the USS General M B Stewart wich was a troop transport. I need information about acivities this squadron was involved in during this time. Dad was a photo mate 2nd class and flew in the b-26 marauder as a photographer. He shipped back home on the Ticonderoga in November 1945.
