Comments: My father, Roy Churchill, served on the USS Naifeh from January 1951-late 1952 (maybe later). I have a lot of information on ship movement for his WWII ship but know little about the service of the Naifeh outside of what Wikipedia tells me. Does anyone have any information (Diaries, anything) about the work that the Naifeh did in this time period?

Comments: My father, Roy Churchill, served as a on the USS Naifeh at the beginning of the Korean Conflict. He reported to the ship in January 1951 and served through the end of 1952, I believe (maybe a little longer). I have a lot of information on his service on his WWI ship but nothing on Korea. I am looking for any information (beyond Wikipedia) on where the ship went and what they did during these years.

Comments: Looking through my Dad, Herb Presley's, notes after he passed away, he asked that i get info on USS Naifeh De 352, and said he wished he would have. My dad told me about being on the ship, as best I remember, he sat in a small room, in the lower part of the ship, and watched for floating mines, explosives...he told me that late at night, he would close his eyes, and practice finding his way out of that area and upwards to an escape. He memorized that route, but, Thank God, never had to take it. His memories of his time on that shio never left him. but he didn't talk too much about it, until he was nearing death. He's my Hero! If you knew my Dad, Herb Presley, especially if you served with him on the USS Naifeh De 352, I think I need to hear from you! God Bless you for Your service! Comments: I am trying to acquire a quality photo of the USS Naifeh during WW II service. My wife is a relative of Alfred Naifeh and her father Glenn, from the Keifer OK area, is also a WW II vet. We have large Christmas gatherings in Drumwright, OK. I would like to encase an 8X10 or so in a "shadow box" along with a brief description and a reproduction of the Navy and Marine Corps Medal he was awarded posthumously for his actions in helping save others following the sinking of their ship, the USS Lewis, in WW II. This should make a great gift for the Naifeh family from the Tulsa and OKC area. Thanks for any help on acquiring the photo. My dad, Jack Parker Sr., was also a veteran of WW II and served in the field artillery in the Pacific Campaign. After the war ended, he was stationed in Korea for a year to disarm the Japanese.

Comments: I am trying to learn more aboutmy father's role in the battle of Pork Chop Hill. He mentioned once that he was flown to Paris to receive medals but he never went to pick them up because he got drunk on French wine instead. I have one picture of him standing in front of a barracks by a sign that says 1st Platoon, Co. C 709th then a letter I can't make out and COMD DIV. I think he might have been a tank mechanic, I know he was in Germany for a few weeks before going to Korea, and he got a hole in his hand at porkchop hill in 1953 because I have a picture of him in a hospital bed with his bandaged hand looking away to the wall, dated 1953.His name was Basil George Bromm, and any information would be greatly appreciated. He is still alive but doesnt like to talk about it.
