Comments: My father-in-law served on the Hamul in the early 50's, he doesn't like computers but enjoys talking and hearing about his military days, so I print the messages out for him to read. His name is Orville Lee Christy and he now lives in WV, he has let me borrow his picture of the ship and there is a few more ships pictured with it. Does anyone out there by chance remember serving with him? If so or if interested in the picture please drop me a email, Thanks.

Comments: I was wondering if anyone who may read this might have known my father. He served on the U S S Hamul. His name is Thomas Lee Vince. He was born and raised in Ohio. He served twenty-three years of active duty in the United States Navy. He had good memories and great stories. He went to a reunion back in Tennessee. He died in 1995 of congestive heart failure. I was wondering if I could get a flag from the United States Navy to commemorate his years of faithful service and so that I could use it to help me remember what a great American he was. I could buy a hundred flags but it would mean so much more to me if I had a flag sent to me from the USN for their gratitude of him. Thanks to anyone for helping me. I have the flag that was given to my father from the Navy when his brother died. It would mean so much. Thank you and God Bless you all.
sincerely,
Jeffrey Joel Vince

Comments: I served aboard the Hamul AD20 for approximately 2 months (November and December, 1951). I was a radioman in the Flag division (Admiral's staff). I had transferred to the Flag when Hamul relieved the Bryce Canyon for rotation. In December, 1951 I traded billets with a radioman on the USS Brush DD745. The Brush was tied alongside with three other destroyers.
