I was discharged while aboard the Hamul in Dec. of 1960 in Long Beach, CA. I believe that the Hamul was then headed for the East coast to be de-commisioned. My strongest memories of the Hamul were of the movie "The Wackiest Ship in the Navy". Part of it was filmed along side in Pearl Harbor. It wasn't an academy award film, but Hamul survivers might want to rent that movie and relive a few memories. It starred Jack Lemmon and Ricky Nelson.
