He was stationed in San Juan during the Korean War and fixed evaporators on ships in port. If there wasn’t a ship in port, him and his buddies would go to the beach and eat 10 cent hot dogs and drink 10 cent beers. Does anyone remember him or have info on him? He passed away in 2010. I visited San Juan a couple years ago and it was very nostalgic.

American, assigned to Hawaii and the Mariana Islands
(1944-46), but served the bulk of his career after
Korea, there at Camp Pendleton. I was born in 1961
and my father retired in 1965. My question was about
the site and location of the Naval Hospital at that
time. It would be great to find more photos or
anything of record. I have a 1st Battalion photo from
1952. He was an Infantryman and a Unit Leader E-5
Sgt, but got into some trouble a couple of years
before retirement and got busted down in rank. So be
it. He was a good man and a great father and always
encouraged me to join the military and 'serve your
country. I did, six year Air Force, Top Secret,
Telecommunications, Satellite, Radio, Microwave,
TROPO, UHF, etc.

Thanks dad! :)

Someday, I'll visit that stretch of rocky beach I
remembered so vivdly from 2 years old, like I did in
1985 after my discharge from the AF and on the way
home, the return.
