Comments: Looking for any information regarding my Uncle's service in Korea. His name was PVT Joseph Ovila Poirier. He died on leave in December 1952.
His gravestone marker states he was with the 298 OM GRREG CO, I think that might be an error, I think maybe it should have read 293 QM GRREG CO.
If anyone knew him or has any photos that could be emailed, I would appreciate it!
Thank you!

Comments: My Father, was Michael Jeffer and was enlisted in the Army in the Korean War. I do not
know much, except that my twin brother Brian, was named after a good buddy in the Army.
Also, my Dad said he was a mortician if that's what you can call it. I am looking for
men that would of served with my dad or knew him. Both my parents have passed so all I
have is a picture of my dad in the service and he is wearing a patch on his left
shoulder of an X that I found out was a 581st Signal Radio Relay Company Patch. Also,
my Dad is wearing a white ascot with 293 RD ? M. CA , there ? means I can't read the
Letter. There is a black shield with a white cross centered with a shovel on the right
and a gun on the left side. What did this stand for?
Please I want to do a bio on my Dad and I need help with obtaining information before
it's too late...I will email you a picture of my Father if it's legit.
PS Paul Noll, if you can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm grateful that I could serve in our field of work; in fact I've always felt honored having helped return the many heroes who made the supreme sacrifice. I regret that our country has not yet exhausted every effort to find and return those still unaccounted for. Let us not give up hope to that end. God Bless you, and God Bless American.

Comments: As usual, I would like to say that you do have an outstanding site here. It is dedicated to all the fallen comrades and veterans. I know I haven't been by for a while now. It is'nt that I haven't tried, things have been happening lately. I guess it is called old age. I had an Uncle that was a combat medic, 2 cousins in the Korea War, other relatives, and many friends. I have spent over 40 years in Graves Registration. I have added a few articles written by connie sechrest from the 293d Graves Registration Co, Operation Glory I wrote and all the GR units and temporary cemeteries are listed. The 148th had a role to play in this one too. The Central Identification Laboratory's history is also part of it. They are now stationed in Hawaii. When they came out of Vietnam, I set up their training and cross-training programs. Come by an visit when you all get a chance. I also have a lot of information on WWII. Col (Ret) Butte wrote an article on Sicily Recovery Operations. The site is growing by the week. You site display, graphics and all are very nicely done, for all to grasp and see. My site not too many people like to talk about, but someone has to bring them to the LIGHT of what combat was to a young fellow, and that of becoming a warrior at such a young age. I had 3 combat tours, and I am glad to be back home again. I know that many of our heroes never made it, except in a shroud of glory. If you all get a chance, drop by one of my sites. Keep up the great work here. Thanks and God Bless you, Charles
