Comments: Our Mother, Betty Ann Cook Monus was a "Oklahoma Singing nurse" in the Korean Conflict. She has passed away however we sure would like to know if any of her fellow collegues remember here. In 1953 she was on the front page of the daily Oklahoman dubbed as the "Korean singing nurse" that kept everyone happy as much as possible in a war. She was an Air Force Nurse. She was stationed out of Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Oklahoma in the 50's. If anyone remembers her, please email. Thanks, Marilyn and Jeanie her devoted daughters

Comments: I am looking for Korean War who were also WWII Army Nurse Corps vets (especially hospital ships) for two reasons:
1) to honor them by collecting their oral history for the Library of Congress (I am a volunteer)
2) to learn more about their experience so I know more about my mom's ANC contribution (she died when I was young).
3)find anyone who served with Major Helen Visnovsky, WWII and Korean War flight evac nurse.

Any help you or your friends can provide would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
Steve

Comments: I worked at the Yokohama train station. Loading troops on to trains to go to other points on their way to Korea. My husband, Duane O'Neal (now deceased) was a veteran of the Korean War also. I am writing this in his memory. If anyone knew him, he was in an engineer unit, I would like to hear from them. I like this site and will probably visit it again.

Keywords: First of all, I was a WAC, Joyce Yonker, stationed in Yokohama in 1949-50. Would like to hear from veterans that were in Japan at that time.

Comments: VETS or ACTIVES WHO HAVE SERVED, OR ARE SERVING, IN COMBAT AREAS -- I'm putting a book together about the bond that develops among those serving in wars/conflicts. Would you like to express your admiration for, or say "thank you" to, a person or group you served beside? You have a chance to tell the stories that have stayed in your hearts and memories long after the fighting---stories that are usually overlooked in books about combat. Please write or call: (Mrs.) Debbie McCabe, 3710 Mesa Ridge Rd., Houston, TX 77043, 713/895-0542.
