Comments: Came to the unit early 9/50 as buck sgt left a tech 11/51. One of the few reg AF types the unit, it was the most f...ed up unit I was ever in, in my + 26 yrs. service, I loved it! A lot of great guys (with a few exceptions). Love to hear from any of you.

Comments: I will not soon forget the many faces of ou men! Of course, names are lost but we can still recall events, both humorous and sad. Perhaps one of you may recall an incident where we had to convoy with AP`s and others, to a spot in the mts out of Pusan where a jet pilot had bailed out and landed with his seat attached. We suspected that he would have a fractured spine, but such was not the case, and we got him to the ship Repose in Pusan Bay after some series of events. I drove the ambulance and Camille Russo, a dental tech(previously a B-26 gunner)was riding right seat. Everyone had left us, and we had the patient, doctor, and medical tech in the back. It was pitch dark, and we were going a rapid speed of about 25-30 mph when a Korean jumped out into the middle of the road into our lights. He was armed with a machine gun. I asked Camille if he thot we should stop and he said: No! I replied the same, told him to keep his head down, and we proceeded to zero in on this nut who jumped out of the way, and we luckily proceeded on our way unharmed but a little shaken up. Just one of the many incidents to relate. Russ Quimby, USAF retired..last duty: Nurse recruiter, USAF, Sacramento, CA.
