Comments: I am Chief MSgt Don Vann. I may have posted on this site before but IF can't confirm it. I was in the 2354 PPSq at Camp Stoneman in 1951 to about 1953 when the Group moved to Parks AFB near Dublin. I played Basketball in 2354 PPS at Stoneman & 2353PPSq at Parks. 1st Sgt DePriest was one on the coaches. Some things I remember: The barracks fire at Parks. Those great Sq picnics at Crow Canyon. and Sq parties at a club in Antiock. Pro boxing at Parks. Parties at Cozy Corner . Marsh Creek parties. Some great comrades that IS will never forget. Anyone in those units may contact me. I retired in1978 after a great career in the AF.

Comments: I have fond memories of my last two years in the AF spent at Parks
AFB. The 2353rd processed all outgoing and incoming AF personnel
to and from the Far East . Most of the administrative sections, plus
the Orderly Room were housed in a large Quonset Hut style building
that also held the base gym. There wasn't much surrounding the
base in those days...a bar called Cruisers owned by an ex-sailor that
had great chili and some off-base housing outside the main gate .
For those of you who never saw it again, you wouldn't recognize it .
Now the Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin area is huge and housing
costs are enormous. I visited it several times in the 80s and 90s
when it was empty but still exactly the same. I visited my barracks
and my room was still the same collar I painted it all those years
ago. My two daughters ended up living in the Bay Area (one in
Dublin) so I had the fun of showing them around before most of it
was torn down. I would love to hear from anyone from my squadron
who was there between Sept 1954 to Oct 1956.

I met and married my wife while stationed at Parks AFB. We will be married 50 years 9/4/04.
I stay in touch with Walter Anen and Tony Gutierrez, however I especially would like to locate Paul Webster. Paul was living in the Bay area the last time I communicated with him about 20 years ago.
I hope to hear from anyone who was stationed at these bases 1951-1955.
I am living in New Orleans, LA., my birthplace.
I played most sports at both Camp Stoneman and Parks, softball, basketball, track and flag football.

Comments: Looking for anyone who may have known my father
When he retired he was Msgt.Harrell Jefferson Rush. He might have had a nickname of "Red", "Rush" or "Sarge". He passed away in 1976 at a young age and I am trying to put together family info for my son who is stationed in Korea now in the Army. Mom is gone too and Dad never spoke of WWII or Korea although I found his diary from WWII. I have pictures from Okinawa and that is where I got the numbers which may be his unit but the number is not complete. Hope someone can help. Thank you
