Comments: My Dad served aboard the Sussex (AK213) during WWII when it was under the control of the United States Coast Guard. They sailed from New Orleans to Manila and Admiraldy Islands, then to Hawaii at the end of WWII. The ship was then transferred to the U.S.N. after that.

Comments: When i needed help this page was not here I'm glad i found it. I came aboard this ship, the sussex, in dec. of 1958 and transfered 2 mo. before she was sold and decommisoned. I made many real good friends. ports of call were ,sasebo, Iwokuni, hokida and yokosuka. This ship was the first ship to go to hokido since 1945, world war II. at this time we were a secret project.

Comments: Looking for anyone who knew my grandfather, Gunner's Mate 3rd Class Walter R. Crickman. Recently got a copy of his discharge paperwork that said he served on the USS Sussex 1951-1954. He passed away when I was 3 months old. Any info on him would be greatly appreciated.
