Comments: My Uncle Walter, Walter Spees, was a repeaterman according to his dd214. He never talked about Korea and I am trying to help my cousin, Clifford, Wlater's son, with finding information about his father during this time. He was in Korea from Feb of 1953 to Jan of 1955. I do know he was shot and chased by dogs and later recieved a purple heart. He has passed and I am trying to fill in the pieces about this part of his life. If you knew him, could you please email or call. Thanks. I really appreciate any time you have.

Comments: I don't know exactly where our Tempest Main relay site was located after so many years, but we overlooked the DMZ and were visited nightly by a small aircraft dropping sand bags. I think we called him midnight Charlie but my memory is faded at age 77. Over the years, I have had contact with a couple of our team, great guys all of them, and wonder if the site is still in operation on our side of the DMZ. I have many memories of our base at Uijongbu but they are not very pleasant.

Comments: Jim and I went to cable splicing school in Camp Gordon, then to 58 signal corp in Korea, then on to Korea by July of 1950, came home together then went back tp Fort Gordon in 1951 and was discharged in May of the same Year. Lost contact with one another in early 1952. Visited his home town of Sommer Point NJ, but he had moved.
