Comments: Sometime during his 2nd tour of duty, he was placed in a Heavy Mortar group. Then around 1958 or 1959 while on the battlefield, E.C. loaded a shell. The shell blew up and he was critically injured. E.C was first hospitalized somewhere overseas. He was there for a few months then he was well enough to be transported to a hospital state side and hospitalized for nearly a year. He never returned to the military. He passed away in 2005. When we contacted the military, the US Gov. was unable to find his records. My brother's records were probably destroyed in a fire according to US Gov. Maybe his tags were destroyed during the explosion and he was unidentified. Is there anyone in a M.A.S.H. unit that may remember such an incident? Can anyone remember E.C.? E.C. was a well-liked man. He was kind, generous, liked cigars and loved beer, lived in Texas with his girlfriend/now wife, Vera. Like many veterans he didn't like to talk about his war experience. It really leaves a hole in the information we have to give to help anyone remember him....I do remember him saying something about being on Pork Chop Hill, if that helps anyone.
We think that Edward Charles (E.C.) Magee deserves to be buried with a military head stone and full honors deserving a veteran. Now that I think about it...I don't think he ever received a Purple Heart!
PLEASE HELP US DO THIS FOR HIM. Thank you for any help you can give.
Sincerely,
Family of E.C. Magee

Comments: I was the AT6 pilot ("Mosquito") who directed a flight of F-84s in a napalm attack on enemy troops who were storming hill 406 on July 20, 1953. I was told that the hill was defended by an American battalion which was in danger of being over-run by a superior-size enemy force. The napalm attack was highly successful in that many enemy troops were killed, 20 wounded were captured, and the attack was halted. I have often wondered who the defenders were, what there situation was that day, and how the napalm attack looked from their perspective. I'm hoping that someone will read this and contact me with their recollections of that day.

He never told me much about his time in the war except for one story in which he said his unit was attached to a British division and how he hated the fact that they would break for tea every day at 4PM no matter what was going on. Comments: If anyone has any stories of my father while he was in Korea I would like to hear from you. thanks My fathers name is : Ronald J. Fisk, he was from Vestaburg,Michigan ( He was born in Mason,Michigan.) I'm not sure what unit he was in,because he wouldn't talk about it very much at all. I do remember him talking about shooting the BIG 6mm howitzer guns? He passed away this October so I really never got to hear any more stories. thanks for any info. A BIG THANKS to every Veteran, It is because of BRAVE MEN and WOMEN like you that we live in a FREE COUNTRY!!! THANKS for FIGHTING FOR OUR FREEDOM!!!!!
