involved in way back in 1950. I was a SGT.MAJ with 3rd.Bn.6th. Mar,
enjoying a Med. Cruise. We had to cancel this Beautiful Cruise and set
sail for the Suez Canal, then on to Kobe Japan ,for a fast change in
missions, and make preparations for the Inchon Landing and on to the
Chosin. 

After the entry of Red China into the affray the mission was slightly 
changed and we attacked in a New Direction. It is gratifying to know 
that we have people like you and your  Brother standing watch even at
Christmas . If you wonder about the 6th Mar. we were re. designated
3rd 7th upon arrival in the Land Of Tte Morning Calm I was fortunate to
be assigned to Korea for two more tours of duty.

I would enjoy learning more about the surfing episodes of you and your
brother at Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle  

I am a veteran of the Chosin Few, 7th Marines, First marine Division.  
I have vivid memories of the Korean "police action" in 1950.  I have
attended several reunions including the most recent one held in Korea.

I have a strong interest in this battle and would like to communicate
with you or others that who continue to honor what we did there.

I was Hospital Corpsman in Howe Company, 3rd Battallion, 7th Regiment 
from Dec 1950 to Sept 1951.  I would love to hear from anyone who
served in that out fit at that time.  

We went from the bean fields at Masan to the Punch Bowl.  I would also 
like to obtain rosters of Howe Company for that time period.

I recently found out about the 1st Division reunion in Cincinnati in

I noticed that there were some people stationed there before my arrival.

I arrived there on the 42nd replacement draft, right up front on thr
"38th"Parrell". I also was in "Item Company" 3rd Bn, 7TH "Mar, 1st
"Mar. Div." 

We arrived there in the early part of 1954 until sometime in 1955. We
brought home the "Colors" it was the first time the "Colors", had been
home since the start of the "Korean Conflict",had started.

I would be interest in finding some of my old "Buddies" that were
stationed there when i was. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I

My dad's name is Billy Ray McNeely. He was a Marine in Item Co, 3rd Bn,
7th Marine Regiment. My dad was wounded on 07 Oct 1952 while retaking
an overrun outpost. At the same time his Plt Sgt SSgt Lewis Watkins was
KIA and received the CMOH. My dad has said that there were 85 Marines
in the Co when they went up on line. While in the hospital in Japan, a
Marine Officer came gathering information for SSgt Watkins CMOH 
citation.

He informed my dad that dad had been the last one wounded that day in 
his Co and that there were only 34 Marines left in the Co.

Have spent years searching for Karl C. Perryman, F/O with 3rd battalion.
Karl was from Mobile, Alabama, and was black. 

He and I shared a bunker with a sign the CO made me takedown.

".Perryman, destruction...Junkermann Salvage". Saved my neck during one
firefight. I think he eventually played football at either Michigan or 
Mich. State, but did not get any info there.

My father was wounded on a ridge overlooking Haggaru in late 1950. I'm
trying to find out more about my father's role and his unit.  Recently,
I posted a message on the Marine message center page.  I have received 
a few responses, but nothing specific about my dad's unit.  

I would appreciate any information you have available about this unit. 
My father's name was Philip G. Richardson, and he grew up in Ida Grove
Iowa.  He was serving on the USS Worchester in the Mediterranean sea
when the war broke out.  From there I think he was sent straight to the
Inchon landings.

explains how Bill died, roughly where he was killed and positive
