Subject: 7th Aerial Port Sq. Det. 14, Kimpo, Korea

Hi Mr Barker,

I was a member of the above Sq from Nov '52 to April '54. I can find no
reference to it in any of my research and I feel let down and wondering
why?! Any help you could render I would be very grateful.

Hi Ted,

Thank you very much for the prompt reply. I was in the Air Force and the
task of the 7th Aerial Port Squadron, Det 14 was primarily a troop
support squadron, we kept them supplied and also troop Aerial Carrier.
The Hq. was in Ashiya, Japan and we were detached to Kimpo, Korea, Man
was it cold!

I spent two cold and lonely Thanksgiving's and Christmas there.
I was very mobile..I was sent to Taegu, Pusan, Osan, Kunsan etc
and I am surprised as I can find no ref. anywhere as to our mission! I
guess it was not too important in the overall scheme of thing's. Too us
it was very real and scary! You would think that there would be some
comment as to our function or for service provided.

Thnak you very much Ted and I hope you enjoy Thanksgiving!

Best Wishes,
Bernie Sweeney
