From: Bill Floyd Email address Sent: Saturday, July 22, 2000 2:36 PM The 1955-5 AACS unit I was assigned to in 1952 was stationed in Fukuoka, Japan. I was an airborne radio operator and we flew to Korea almost every day with supplies, troops & mail. Never did, as I said, see actual ground combat, but our detachment was given the Korean Service Medal and the ROK Pres. Unit Citation. Also got the U.N. Service and Good Conduct medals...(I'm copying this is off my DD214). Prior to the 1955-5, I was assigned to the 1951st AACS Squadron in Itami, Japan where I worked for FEAF Hq. We intercepted Russian and other info there. Was discharged 20 Sept. 1955 in Japan and reenlisted to fill my own vacancy. Hope this info will be of some help. Thanks Bill Floyd
