I served on the Halsey Powell DD686 from early 1951 (recommision plank

I would like to know if there are any other crew members of the "Jewel
of the Pacific Fleet" out there.

I am still working on the Korean War History of the Halsey Powell
(DD686). Incidently, I came across some interesting information about
the USS Essex CV 9 (Task Force 77). We were in plane gaurd station
behind the Essex on Sept 16, 1951 when the plane retuning from a mission
crash on the deck of the Essex (killing 6, I believe). Anyway I have
photos that I took on that fateful day. As soon as I can I will scan
them in and send them to you on the web. Some members of the Essex
might be interested in them. I'm sure they were all too busy fighting
the ensuing fire to worry about photos. Anyway I have then and I will
forward them to you as soon as I can.
