We deployed from Alameda Air Station for a six months tour which was later changed to a year for personnel, but Iwakuni was made home port for the Staff while the Kenneth Whiting came back to the States. Capt. Alden Schwartz was the Commodore, Hal Boutte the Administrative Officer. I would enjoy hearing from anyone who served on the Staff during that time. I was Ass't.
