8th Field Artillery Bn 25th Infantry Division

My father, Capt. Sten E. Westin, was KIA August 22, 1950, near Taegu,
Korea.  He was a member of the 8th Field Artillery Battalion, 25th 
Infantry Division.  Would appreciate knowing what information you have
available about his loss.

He was drafted in of Oct or Nov 1950. His unit was the 25th division, 
in 8th field artery bn. 

He joined this outfit in 1951..  He thinks his serial number was
55049582. He has all the info at home and was trying to give me what
he could remember off the top of his head.

He was on board the USS Mitchell to Korea on and around 19 Feb, 1953. He
went to Camp Drake in Japan, then to Korea via the USS Gen Nelson Walker,
arriving on or around 16 March, 1953.   His unit was at Chunchon, then went
into the Chorwon area on or around 2 April, 1953.  His letters mention Tom
Haywood, from Michigan, who was scheduled for rotation on 11 June, 1953.
That is the only information I have on Mr. Haywood.  If anyone remembers
