I am a vet of this conflict, was there from Mar. 52 till Oct.53, served
with:

UNC POW camp # 10 Pusan

Co. G 38th Inf. 2nd Div.

558th MP Co. 8th Army Hq.

Was on DS at Munsan-ni right before Armistace was signed. Was also on
duty in Seoul when IKE came to inspect Korea to end the fighting!

Became Mr. Nowotarski in Nov. 53, seperated from Ft. Sherdian IL

I was in POW Camp #10 Pusan witch was called 10th MPEG Co. We were in
the PW hospital Command around the time the riots happened on Ko Ge Doe
& Chagie Doe ( excuse the spelling) islands were the 3rd Div. was
partly guarding them!

Remember the time when they shipped over a bunch of the prisoners all
messed up from one of there riots!

I volunteered for combat around Jan. 53 & this was when I was sent to G
CO. 2nd batallon 38th Regement 2nd Div. Was with this unit about 2
months & then ordered to 8th Army Hq. 558th MP Co. in Seoul!

Was sent to DS at Munsan-ni Base Camp, had another detachment at
Panmungon from our Co. Too. After a while I was back & forth from Munsan
to company in Seoul where I recall seeing IKE when he made his visit to
end that mess there, prior to his election as president!

This is where i was when the Cease Fire went into effect!

Am also a life member in 2nd Div. Assoc. in Buda Texas & life member in
Korean War Veterans Alliance, attended my 1st reunion earlier this year!

Under MP Co.s For what it is worth, across the road from 558th MP Co. in
Seoul was another company called 8th Army Honor Guard! The men in this
company & 558 MP Co. were taken from line outfits, all with the CIB.

The honor guard used to put on all sorts of marches for all high ranking
General's incluning president elect Eisenhower, Mark Clark, William K
Harrison, Weyland (air force) to name a few. They were in the 8th Army
Hq. compound,we in 558 MPs were across road in our own compound! Was
just beautiful to watch them do there thing for all VIPs! Writing these
things to you is helping me to remember more & more!
