My name is George Romagno and I was a member of the above unit.
We were a Wyoming National Guard unit and were attached to the
2nd Infantry div.

Our unit was a Bn. of self propelled 105MM howitzers mounted on
the M7 chassis. In World War 2 they were called "Priests". In the
latter part of may of 1951, "A" Btry was sent with other elements
inc. the 187th RCT on task force "Baker"
which rode with us into the hell which was the battle for
Inje.

We recieved our first Presidential Unit citation for this and lost
some good men there, I have since contacted the 2nd Div. Assoc.
and we are eligible for membership in it.

For documentation please contact me. There are a lot of units that
never got the recognition they deserve in this "forgotten war."

We were attached to the 2nd Infantry division and were one of the
first units to enter Inje in May of 1951. I was on Task Force Baker
along with other units.

Our outfit was the 300th Armored Field Artillery BN. Self propelled
105mm M-7s. There was some awfully heavy fighting in and around
that area including the Soyang river. Lost some good people there.

The 300th AFA served in the X Corps sector primarily with the 2nd ID,
1st Marines, 7th ID. and the 5,6,7,8 ROKA ID and the Korean Marines.

I have written a book "The Running Wounded" about my experiences from
1951-52. I am now completing a history of the 300th Armored Field
Artillery Bn. which earned 7 campaign ribbons, 2 US PUC's, 2 US
Meritorious Unit Citations, 2 ROK PUC's.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who knows of this unit.
