I am trying to find anyone who knew my husband's father, Chaplain
(Major) Wayne H. Burdue. He was in 2 Engineer C BN 2nd Inf Division
He was captured on or about Nov. 30, 1950, and 3 years later, it was
reported to my husband's mother that he had died on July 31, 1951, in
the prison camp. My husband was 2 years old when he left, and he never
knew him. Now, Mrs. Burdue has died, and my husband has no siblings.
Thank you for any help or memories you have.
Ralph Salvati,
Ted -
Thanks for the update. My father was absolutely thrilled by the
dedication. He couldn't be happier with the memorial and the
festivities that week in Washington were spectacular. We were very
pleased to see him so happy with his 65th birthday present.
He wants me to ask you to be on the lookout for any respondants to your
new page from the 1st Field Artillery Observation Battallion.
Particularly those who served in Korea in 1952.
Thanks again.

I had intended to commend the
people involved in establishing the Korea project and to see
what information your data base might have on Ralph Salvati who
in Korea in June (or July) 1950. He only 17 years old and was a
high school classmate of mine. I also served in Korea, but not
until July 1953 to August 1954. I was enroute, via troop
ship, when the truce was signed.

how I can find out what camp he had been in.
I am trying to find out what information I can about him. We shall
NEVER forget! Denis GERALD Rickey (my mother was his older sister
and my middle name is in his honor).
I do not believe the family recieved anything at the time, and all his
family - including my mother and all his/her brothers and sisters,
have passed away - so I have the "responsibility" to remember..
Thank you.

This info is for my uncle, Harold F Bryant, who was killed in hostile
action 11/26/50 in Korea. He was a Corporal, age 19, from Liberty
South Carolina.
If you knew of him or have any info about him, please contact me. I
was 3 yrs old when he died. I remember packing a big box on our
kitchen floor with goodies like cookies, etc and a New Testament, with
my parents and shipping it off to him, only to have it returned maybe
a month later, unopened. We ate the cookies and I still have the New
Testament.
Your help is appreciated.

I was only 2 years old when my Uncle Sonny (Peter M. Sidorka) became
missing in action. My only memories of him are those told to me of a
young 18 year old man who adored his niece and nephew. I held onto
the red and white stuffed penquin he gave me at my birth along with
his 1st baseman's mitt. If anyone knew him I would really love to
hear from you.
Just being able to locate him on the list of those missing and killed
in action brought tears. Thank you for being here!

Your Wed site lists some of the information I was looking for on my

where he was stationed when he was killed or the battle location?
Could you also tell me what the following tells me about my uncle (Hugh
W. Walker), 2 ENG BN (C) 2 INF DIV?
My guess is that he was with the Second Engineering Battalion, Company
C, Second Infantry Division.
How/where can I find out about what the 2 INF DIV 2 ENG BN (C) was
involved in on 11-30-50 and 12-01-50 that left my uncle and 193 other
soldiers dead or missing?
Also my uncle was listed as having a military specialty of 00060. What
was he?
Thank you for your time,
